After you land: immigration and baggage

Transport from the airport to the city
There are several ways into central Shenzhen from the airport:
- Metro: the airport is connected to the Shenzhen metro, often the simplest and cheapest option for travelers with light luggage.
- Taxi or ride-hailing: available at the official ranks; have your hotel address saved in Chinese to show the driver.
- Airport bus: runs on fixed routes to major districts, good if your hotel is near a stop.
Travel time to central areas like Futian or Nanshan is roughly 40 to 60 minutes depending on traffic and the mode you choose.
Payment at the airport
The airport is highly cashless. Set up WeChat Pay or Alipay before you land if possible — you will need it for metro, taxi, and food. ATMs are available, but relying on cash alone will slow you down.
Eating and waiting
T3 has a range of restaurants and cafes, both Chinese and international, plus convenience stores. If you have a layover or a late flight, there are options for resting and overnight stays inside the terminal — check the latest opening hours before you plan to sleep there.
